Bio

The awesome thing about writing your own bio is that you get to decide how you want people to know you. I want you to know me as a friend, so I'm going to start with full disclosure: I don't really look much like this picture. I think this is what my spirit looks like. My earthly body does not have the benefit of the PhotoShop touch-ups that grace this representation. I wear glasses. I have more chins than this shot would lead you to believe. My hair and skin never look this even. But the smile is true.

My husband, Larry, and I have five children, ranging in age from 28 to 16 (girls first and last, and three boys in between), and we also have two of the cutest, smartest, sweetest grandbabies anyone could hope for. We met in Young Adults and got married two years later, after I had successfully weaned him away from his first post-mission crush. We celebrated our 30th anniversary in February 2008, so I guess we're in it for the long haul. (When he frustrates me on occasion, I tell him I have too much equity in him to chuck him now.)

I have worked as an editor for Deseret Book Company since before our marriage, but when I started having children I just did it at home for a few hours a week so I could be a mom first and foremost. I now work full time in the office, but I'm still a mom first in my heart.

I wrote a few books, which you can read about on the "books" tab, and I like to read and go to plays and watch old movies and cook. I love chocolate and word games and family and friends. That's probably all you need to know about me for now. It's nice to meet you!
